THE PERSONALIZATION NOTES
What Order Do Monogram Initials Go In?
For a traditional three-letter monogram, the last-name initial goes in the center and is larger. For a modern, equal-size monogram, use first, middle, then last.
A simple example
For the example name Emma Grace Parker, a traditional monogram reads EPG, with the P enlarged in the center. A modern monogram reads EGP, in name order.
One or two initials
A single letter can stand for a first name or surname. In the Monogrammer single-letter styles, the last initial is used when supplied; otherwise the first initial is used. For a two-letter design, enter only the two initials you want and check the preview before submitting.
How to enter initials in the studio
- Enter letters in the fields labeled first, middle, and last.
- Choose a monogram style. The studio handles the selected style’s letter order.
- Check the preview and order note. Do not manually rearrange the input fields for a traditional style.
- Choose your product and review the complete design.
Giving a monogram as a gift
Confirm the recipient’s preferred initials, spelling, and surname before ordering. There is no need to follow a convention the recipient does not like; the preview should reflect their preference.
